Nissan had prepared a test route that took us through the Tungku Beach

On the first and second gear, i can felt like no turbo lag. i can hear my passenger scream “im not married yet!” as i drift the truck abit. The power is surprising!

The NAVARA 6M/T is mated with YD25DDTi common-rail direct injection diesel engine This engine delivers an industry-leading 174ps and maximum torque of 403Nm ( the highest in it class ) by adopting a variable nozzle turbocharger with intercooler.

Additionally, an engine balancer shaft system is employed for superior Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) suppression performance.

I’m driving the supreme black exterior. The new variant also features 4WD system which is electronically-controlled and a Limited Slip Differential (LSD).

This system enables shifting between 2WD and 4WD with the use of a dial without having to stop the vehicle as long as the vehicle is travelling at less than 100km/h.

image

The LSD optimizes the torque balance between the left and right wheels which improves drivability and stability during cornering and on slippery terrains.

image

The truck felt very stable and safe on descending the hill

image

When it came to stopping, the 320mm front discs and rear drum brakes scrubbed off the speed efficiently and calmly.

image

The gearbox contains six forward speeds and the low speed torque

image

i felt the power rush when i push the pedal down on the floor and again sorry to my fellow passenger :)

Going on to the sand!

image

The ladder frame chassis with independent front suspension and rigid rear axle with over sprung leaf springs having coped so well with the off-road track provided a car-like smooth, taught and comfortable ride on-road.

image

The Navara felt really easy on the soft sand with 403Nm under the hood.

image

i love drifting in the sand!

image

Response from the accelerator was prompt and, for a pick-up, certainly quick going up the slope

That’s the end of the journey!

The Navara is a rugged vehicle and when you consider it is built with Nissan’s reputation for bullet-proof reliability you would expect this pick-up to carry on well into it’s old age with no problems whatsoever.
