After much anticipation, there is a new addition to the Peugeot family, and that is the Peugeot 208 5-doors. Suitable for a small family who wants practicality and not sacrifice comfort and style, this is an alternative to the sportier 3-door variant, that was launched earlier this year.

Notable differences between the 3-door and 5-door variants are the rims, floating front grille, and self-evident side profile. The 5-doors wear 16” ‘Helium’ wheels while the 3-doors carry 17” ‘Oxygen’ rims. The Cielo Panoramic Glass Roof with ambient lighting as well as the bodykits comes as optional on both variants.

With its award winning touchscreen, and chrome inserts to the interior and exterior, the Peugeot 208 is further lavished with leather upholstery and comes with a 5 star Euro NCAP rating, the highest rating possible from the most widely recognized independent vehicles assessor in Europe.

The Peugeot 208 offers impressive fuel consumption and it’s even lighter than the equivalent 207 – by an average of 114kg. On top of that, the frame is more compact which helps the 1.6L VTi engine be incredibly efficient and helps to save fuel.

The Let Your Body Drive Dance Competition finally came to a close officially as the winners were announced during the launching of the Peugeot 208 5-doors. The theme being LET YOUR BODY DRIVE, the event finally crowned their winners , The Last Minute Crew as their champion, and they walked away with a Champion trophy, a goodie bag and $500 in cash prize. First and second runner ups, Fiz Damit and A.S.O.D, did not walk away empty handed as they were awarded trophies and goodie bags too. And as an added incentive, T.C.Y. Motors decided to reward the runner ups with $200 and $100 respectively, for their impressive effort and driving passion.

LIKE & WIN winner, Jihan Masri, also managed to win a Peugeot goodie bag just by ‘liking’ his favourite video submission on the Peugeot Brunei facebook page during the competition’s voting stage. Patricia Siva from Studioscene and Adrian from Groove Studio received their gift token of appreciation from Marketing Executive, Mr Lim Kai Wei, for their support role as guest judges for the competition. The event concluded with a lucky draw that was open to the public and one lucky winner managed to snag an iPhone 5.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the standard 2014 Nissan GT-R can handle its own on a race track just fine, and yet the Japanese manufacturer disagrees with you with the optional Track Pack, which slightly alters the car, making it a tiny bit more track-focused.

Tested by MotorTrend, there are absolutely no surprises, from the 2.7 seconds it takes to reach 60 mph (96 km/h), to the amazing numbers it records in the rest of the tests (grip, handling and especially braking), the GT-R proves as capable as ever. The Track Pack doesn’t add a whole deal more.

You get the rims from the Black Edition, which come coated in sticky rubber, as well as a carbon fiber front splitter (with cooling ducts for the brakes) and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. Also, the shocks are retuned for better on-track performance, with stiffer springs complimenting the revised setup.

The reviewer’s conclusions are predictably positive, but they do beg a question: some have complained that the GT-R needs to be driven close to the limit in order to be fun. That is quite hard in the normal variant of the car, which is softer and more compliant. With the changes the Track Pack brings about, doesn’t that mean the car’s limits are pushed even further away, and thus you have to work harder to achieve the same level of enjoyment?

It all comes down to what you want from your vehicle, but if it was my money and I was looking to buy a GT-R, I’d just get the standard one, pocket the difference and still have an unbeatable car on the road, which is also not bad on a long journey, and still has the same 545 hp output as the Track Pack.
